Foundational Basketball for Ages 5–10

The Blitz Kids Program is run across Ancaster, Hamilton, and Binbrook — offering boys and girls ages 5 to 10 the perfect introduction to basketball. Designed and led by Blitz Senior Coaches Stefano Giovannangeli, Chris D'Angela, Mike DiFederico, Len Moccia and Anne Howell this high-energy program focuses on fundamentals, movement, teamwork, and confidence-building — all in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Each session is aligned with Canada Basketball’s Developmental Pathway and Canadian Sport 4 Life’s Long-Term Athlete Development model, ensuring athletes learn the right skills, the right way.

Program Highlights

Maximum rep opportunities with small group sizes
Experienced adult coaches with a focus on skill development and fun
Lowered hoops for proper shooting form and confidence
Age-appropriate curriculum developed by coaches with decades of experience
Sessions include movement games, drills, and modified gameplay

St. Matthew Elementary (200 Windwood Dr., Binbrook)

WINTER DATES: Wednesdays - January 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, 25 (and Wed March 4 added due to cancelation of Feb 11 due to school use that night)

Note: This is the recommended basketball for this program. The size 5 Spalding Rookie Gear Lightweight Youth Basketball, usually available for purchase at Sport Chek, Walmart and Canadian Tire.
